NEW Maybelline One By One Mascara Review

I was at Walgreens today and happened to see a display for the new Maybelline Volum Express One By One Mascara.  This isn't supposed to be out until mid-January, so I was super excited!  According to the packaging,
"Exclusive lash by lash brush coats and cleans every single lash for the most refined volume from root to tip."
"Instant clump-free volume."

The brush is supposed to have over 300 bristles and similar to Cover Girl's Lash Blast Fusion, and the new Loreal Million Lashes, the wand is made from a rubbery material instead of the traditional pipe-cleaner style wand.
I used One By One for the first time today, and here are my before and afters: Sorry that the pics are different colors, I took them in two different bathrooms with different lighting.

On me, the results are very similar to Loreal's Million Lashes, although this one had a slightly wetter formula. Overall, I think it made my lashes really clumpy. :(
What do you guys think of the results compared with Million Lashes?  To check out my review on that, click HERE

Spotted! Rimmel Day 2 Night Mascara

I was just in CVS and spotted a new mascara from Rimmel. Just like the new Revlon Custom eyes, this one is also customizable based on the look you're going for. Has anyone else seen/tried this yet?

Revlon Custom Eyes Pre-sale!

Revlon's newest mascara Custom Eyes is not due to hit stores until January, but until 12/27, you can order it online at CVS and Walgreens.  If you want to be the first to try this, I'm told that supplies are very limited, so order as soon as you can!
This mascara has a customizable brush- with just a twist of the tube, the bristles adjust to create either length and drama or length and definition.  Here are the two looks shown by Jessica Biel- she looks absolutely gorgeous!

The stores below are part of the presale.  Click on the links to order:

I'm getting mine tomorrow and will post a review ASAP!

Revlon Photo Ready Compact Review

The sheer uniqueness of this product made me want to buy it.  The packaging says that it's a solid compact foundation with a "liquifying screen".

Basically, when you open the compact, there is a screen with a small sponge applicator, and when you swipe the sponge over the screen, it picks up the product.  It's very cool!  I found that there is a trick to it though- you need to swipe the sponge in a back and forth "S" motion, because if you just swipe it once, you won't pick up enough product.
This is my compact, above, which I have used several times now.  The formula itself is nothing like the original Photo Ready foundation.  For one thing, those of you who did not like the sparkle in the other version will be very happy, because this one has none.  Also, this formula is more sheer- not nearly as heavy.  In fact, it barely feels like you are wearing anything, yet it does a nice job of covering flaws!  Below, you can see where I applied it on my hand.
I got a shade darker, so you can see it- the product is on the left.  You can see how it just makes the pores on my hand completely disappear and look totally airbrushed!  I am amazed with this foundation, and even if you didn't like the original Photo Ready, don't let that scare you from trying this one out.
On a side note, I have very dry skin and foundations normally cake up on me, even when using a primer underneath.  But this one didn't!
What do you guys think?  Has anyone seen this out in stores or tried it yet?

Rimmel Bold Curves Mascara Review

I saw Rimmel's The MAX Bold Curves mascara in the store, and like all mascaras, I was drawn to it in a zombie-like fashion. Especially since it was packaged in an awesome bright green tube and claims to volumize lashes by 14x plus create 70% lift for a wide-eyed look.  I promptly grabbed it and headed for the cash register.

Below you can see the results on my lashes- I think it did an amazing job of  thickening and curling them upwards (I didn't use a separate eyelash curler).

My only complaint is that the first few times you use it, the formula is very wet and a little gunky, so you need to wipe off some of the excess before using.  But after about a week, it dried up a little and now it's much easier to apply.

So what do you guys think?  Have any of you tried this yet?

There's been lots of buzz over Cover Girl's new line of lipsticks called Lip Perfection.  It comes in over 44 colors and is supposed to be super-moisturizing.

 Here's what Cover Girl says:

"Bright, gorgeous color that can transform your day and your lips. Enriched with Silk Therapy Complex, our formula helps sustain moisture levels and helps create soft, smooth, beautiful lips in just 7 days."

I'm really excited!  Have any of you seen this out in stores yet?  As soon as I do, I'll be sure to let you know where you can get it.  But for now, check out Beauty Junkies Unite to see more colors and swatches!

New Loreal Youth Code Review

I've been seeing mysterious ads for Loreal's Youth Code in magazines the past few months, and I've been dying to try it out, even though the ads didn't really explain much about the product.  Since I'm in my early thirties, wrinkles are a prime concern for me.  I want to make the tiny hints of creases that are starting to show up on my forehead and underneath my eyes vanish like, yesterday.
I was in CVS yesterday and was excited to see the Youth Code display. Especially since it's not due to debut in the US for another 20 days.
I bought the eye cream to start with and it cost $27.  The science behind it is too detailed to go into on this blog post, but you can read all about it at www.lorealparisusa.com/youthcode.
While it's too early to tell you whether or not the product gets rid of my undereye wrinkles, I can tell you a little about the formula.

Youth Code Eye Cream is packaged in a tube with a metal applicator, which when applied to the under-eye area feels nice and cold and de-puffs bags.  The formula itself is soft, non greasy and melts luxuriously into skin, while light diffusing particles seem to erase lines.
So far, so good!  I'll post an update in a few weeks with before and after pics.

***UPDATE***
Ok, so it's been a week, and since Loreal says you will see results in one week, I wanted to post pics of my eye area to see if anything's happened so far.  Both pictures were taken in the morning, before I put on makeup, when undereye bags and wrinkles are at their worst.  Here's me last Monday morning:

And here's this morning's picture.  I am actually amazed by the result.  Looking at my eye area every day, I didn't really notice a difference.  But looking at the difference between the pictures now, I can see the change.  The deep wrinkle under my eye is a lot shallower this week.  I can't wait to see what 2 weeks looks like!
