Follow me at www.beauddiction.com

Last week, I let you guys know that the name of my blog was changing to Beauddiction, and it still is...that hasn't changed. But I ran into a hiccup with my domain names and hosting.

My original plan was to just change the web address of this blog and keep all of my old content in the same place but the way things are set up, I'm not able to do that...so basically I have to start a brand new blog.

On the one hand, it really stinks because it's like starting from scratch with search engine rankings and traffic numbers...things like that. But on the other hand, starting from scratch can be a really good thing!

I have a brand new site and I'm loving the clean, crisp new design. It also allows me to add more features than I had on this blog and I will be adding them in the following weeks.

I plan to keep this one out there so you can reference all of my old posts if you need to (and I'll still be linking to them from the new blog as well).

So to all of my loyal readers...I hope that you'll follow me over on Beauddiction.com. I will be posting the same regular content and nothing will change except the site design and the name. :) **Please note that for the moment my comments are working on the new blog, but you have to scroll down to the bottom of the post to see them (there's no comment count at the top). I'm working to try and get them up and running ASAP.**

Love you guys!! Thanks so much for understanding and being so supportive. You're the best!

  1. It looks like I can't subscribe to the new blog in Feedly like I did with this one. Do you know why that might be?

    1. Actually, I just added a Feedly button in the sidebar of the new blog, so you can click that if you have any problems. :)

  2. I just tried it and it seemed to work for me. Did you use the www prefix before the web address? Please let me know if it still doesn't work. I'm trying to get all of the kinks worked out. :)

  3. If you are able to move your content over to the new blog at some point, you could always just set up a redirect from the old URL to the new URL. That way if anyone has this site bookmarked or come across any of your old posts in search results, users will still end up on your new blog. Good luck with the transition!

  5. Will definitely keep following you... Also, when I changed my blog I emailed bloglovin support, and they just moved my followers. Maybe you could do that?

  6. So now will it say Beauddiction formerly Beauty Budget Blog formerly Frugirl??? I don't see an advantage to all the name changes, other than I e noticed more reviews of higher-end products rather than budget-friendly options.

    1. Hi Bonnie, I'm not sure where you are saw the name Frugirl but my blog was never published under that name. I chose it initially when I still had a blogspot.com web address, but when I officially published the page 8 years ago, I purchased the domain name "budgetbeautyblog.com". It has been under that name since 2009 so this is my first name change. I thought on it for a long time (many months) and went back and forth, finally deciding that I don't want to be limited to only talking about budget-friendly items. I try to keep the mix as even as possible but there are times when new drugstore releases are slow and I talk about more expensive items, and vice-versa. In the past I've been criticized by readers for only talking about drugstore products, so in the end I end up feeling frustrated because I can't please everyone. I'm trying my best to keep things even so that my content can appeal to the most people. I hope you'll stick with me...especially since this is the first (and only) name change I plan to make. :)

  9. I just switched my url to a shorter ".co" domain and ugh...I didn't realize that I would lose all of my analytics. It is like starting over.

I love getting comments from you and hearing about your experiences with the products, whether you agree with me or not. It's the best way other readers can get the best information before they buy, so keep the comments coming! :)
